Thinkwalks presents an exploration hike:

Hike Our Most Hidden Watershed

An uncharted archaeology site in the middle of the city? And water history with flowing creeks!

Concrete walls

An empty Laguna Honda Reservoir after the 1906 quake.

Sewers flow under the deteriorating concrete bottom of the abandoned reservoir at Laguna Honda. Muni Metro trains run under the secret creek. We’ll examine renegade trails, startling hilltops and quake prone dunes. We’ll glimpse (and analyze) waterways in the city.

Highlights: springs, hidden tributaries, quake-prone dunes, private neighborhood, WWII Victory Gardens, rail tunnel vent, SF’s first imported water aqueduct, water for Golden Gate Park, renegade trails, hilltops & woods.

Be prepared to visit sandy or muddy remote places, some not on any known map.
